Jennifer Kruger has been an integral member of the Center team since 2016, serving as Associate Director of Mathematics Education Outreach, Director of Mathematics Education Outreach, and currently as Director of K\u201312 Professional Learning. She first came to Rochester to pursue a BA in Mathematics with certifications in elementary education, special education, and secondary mathematics education from Nazareth College. She later earned an MS in Teaching and Curriculum of Secondary Mathematics from the Warner Graduate School of Education at the University of Rochester. In 2021, after a twenty-year break from her role as a student, Kruger returned to academia to pursue a PhD in Education with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Idaho.<\/span><\/p>\nPrior to joining the Center, Kruger spent 15 years as a middle school mathematics teacher and two and a half years as a middle school mathematics coach in the Rochester area. In both roles, she implemented and supported the implementation of the Connected Mathematics Project (CMP), an NSF-funded middle school mathematics curriculum. Drawing on her extensive classroom and coaching experience, Kruger brings a practitioner-informed lens to her work at the Center, where she designs, implements, and researches professional learning initiatives that support teachers and instructional leaders. She has served as senior project personnel on multiple grant-funded coaching and teacher leadership projects and conducts research on professional learning programs that deepen content and pedagogical knowledge aligned with research-based STEM education.<\/p>\n
