Course Description:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Research on mathematics teaching and learning shows that a teacher\u2019s own relationship to and understanding of mathematics is vital for student growth. In this course, participants will engage in mathematics experiences designed to uncover the underlying mathematical ideas associated with fractions as they develop across elementary grades. The experiences will be purposefully sequenced to allow participants to see and feel the vertical alignment of the Next Generation Learning Standards, while linking them to effective and ambitious teaching practices and the NYSED Numeracy Briefs (2025). Participants will have opportunities to reflect on their learning and determine implications for their personal practice and contexts.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Time: <\/strong>9:00 AM-11:30 PM & 12:30 PM-3:00 PM (EDT)<\/span><\/p>\n

Format:\u00a0<\/strong>Synchronous sessions via Zoom<\/span><\/p>\n

Audience:\u00a0<\/strong>Grades K-6 teachers of mathematics, leaders, coaches, and administrators<\/span><\/p>\n

Cost:\u00a0<\/strong>$150 per participant ($140 if paying via district invoice or personal check)<\/span><\/p>\n

CTLE Credit:\u00a0<\/strong>Participants will receive 5 hours of CTLE credit for their full participation<\/span><\/p>\n
