\nCourse Description:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\nResearch on mathematics teaching and learning shows that a teacher\u2019s own relationship to and understanding of mathematics is vital for student growth. In this course, participants will engage in mathematics experiences designed to uncover the underlying mathematical ideas associated with fractions as they develop across elementary grades. The experiences will be purposefully sequenced to allow participants to see and feel the vertical alignment of the Next Generation Learning Standards, while linking them to effective and ambitious teaching practices and the NYSED Numeracy Briefs (2025). Participants will have opportunities to reflect on their learning and determine implications for their personal practice and contexts.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
