Participants will employ a universal design for learning (UDL) instrument to support the planning of technology-based lessons and make them accessible for all learners. Two days of training will include time to explore, develop, and expand STEM activities within a UDL framework, and then opportunities to put those activities into practice with undergraduate teacher candidates and secondary students from local schools.<\/p>\n<p>During this learning institute, participants will:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Learn ways to include marginalized students in STEM using universal design for learning.<\/li>\n<li>Practice how to use robotics as a learning tool that integrates storytelling as well as programming; and<\/li>\n<li>Grow teaching, learning, and leadership skills by facilitating learning experiences for the next generation of teachers.\n<div class=\"su-spacer\" style=\"height:50px\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overview This professional learning institute will focus on exploring and expanding ways to increase access to STEM education.
