Mrs. Brubaker is a high school biology teacher at York Central School District with a passion for creating meaningful and engaging science experiences for students. She currently teaches Regents Biology and is committed to building an inclusive, student-centered classroom rooted in curiosity and scientific thinking. With a background in phenomenon-based instruction and a deep commitment to inquiry-driven learning, Mrs. Brubaker works to ensure all students see themselves as capable, curious scientists. She integrates digital tools and real-world applications to deepen student understanding, promote equity, and encourage collaboration. Mrs. Brubaker believes that student voice and identity are essential in the science classroom, and she is especially committed to supporting learners in building confidence through purposeful discourse, hands-on modeling, and authentic problem solving.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Brubaker is a current member of the NOYCE Be-A-JEDI Master Teaching Fellowship. In May of 2025, she earned a Master of Science in Education in Inclusive and Special Education, as well as a Certificate of Advanced Study in Digitally Rich Teaching in K\u201312 Schools, from the University of Rochester\u2019s Warner School of Education through the program. She previously earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Alfred University and her initial Master\u2019s degree in Adolescent Education. A lifelong learner, Mrs. Brubaker continually seeks opportunities to grow her practice and stay current with research-based, student-centered approaches to teaching science.<\/p>\n

Outside the classroom, Mrs. Brubaker is an avid sports fan who loves cheering on the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Braves. She enjoys watching games with her husband and their two daughters, making it a fun family tradition rooted in team spirit and quality time.<\/p>\n
