Completing the Hiring Process

  • Once the offer has been made and the candidate is ready to start working, the hiring manager should conclude the recruitment process by updating the disposition of each candidate in HRMS.
  • The department manager should then schedule a department-specific orientation for the new hire, and provide him/her with work supplies and keys to the office, if appropriate. The department-specific orientation should include work expectations, a discussion of the probationary/introductory period, time reporting and payroll procedures, and any other critical information.
