PATIENT CARE
NAMING OPPORTUNITIES
SPECIALTY CARE CLINIC
The Specialty Care Clinic will meet the unique needs of patients who have intellectual or developmental disabilities or
complex medical conditions. The majority of these patients are currently not receiving adequate care, as few facilities
are equipped, and few dentists are trained, to accommodate them. Those who are receiving care are often treated under
general anesthesia in an operating room—at greater personal risk and expense than is necessary. The clinic—one of the
first of its kind nationally—will include seven operatories, a recovery room, one IV sedation room, and a special elevator
large enough to accommodate a stretcher, all underscoring our commitment to providing access to high-quality dental
care for patients with a variety of dental, physical, and behavioral needs.
“ This Specialty Care Clinic is our top priority, as all of our
dental residents will also receive hands-on training in caring
for medically complex patients. Our graduates who incorporate
specialty care into their own practice will benefit communities
”
around the world.
