The Corporate Relations Dashboard is organized with ten tabs:
If the user needs more supplemental information concerning any definitions or views in the report, About and Definition buttons have been added to the top right corner of each tab - when clicked, the user will be taken to a more comprehensive breakdown of the dashboard and its definitions.
Summary Metrics: The summary page offers the user a quick glance at pertinent information, including:
Users first must select the company filter option (contains or starts with) and enter the company name they are planning to investigate. In addition to viewing the summarized views that are generated, users may click any view to jump to the corresponding detailed tab.
Itinerary Builder: The Itinerary Builder is an exploratory report designed to be used while planning external relationship outreach in a particular city or state, or by a specific industry. This tab (along with 'Top N Sponsors' and 'Top investigator by Total Grant $/Year') are not tied to parameters set on the summary metrics tab, or any other tab for that matter. Again, this tab is intended to be used independently for exploratory purposes. After a parameter is applied, the results will be reflected in both the map as well as the cross-tab below. Points on the map are colorized by source ID. The map and table can be exported and printed.
Top N Sponsors: Like ‘Itinerary Builder’ and ‘Top Investigator by Total Grant $/Year’, the Top N Sponsors tab is designed to be exploratory, and answer any questions the user may have concerning who the top grant sponsors were by dollar amount, in a given year. The user can set the Top N Grants slider on the right-hand side of the visualization up to 25. If the user is interested in particular top grant sponsor after setting the ‘Top N’ slider, click on corresponding bar in the chart, which will prompt the cross-tab break-out that specific company’s name, proposal title, proposed grant total, project duration in months, days pending from the proposal submission, and the lead investigator.
Top Investigator by Total $ / Year: Again, much like ‘Itinerary Builder’ and ‘Top N Sponsors’, Top Investigators by Total $ / Year is an exploratory view designed to answer user’s questions regarding who the top investigators are in terms of total dollars per year. The investigators can be searched and filtered by a number of different options, including the year the grant expires, grant status, individual investigator search, individual sponsor search, and the college/school name that the investigator and grant are tied to.
A/P 5-Year Gross (by Company): The A/P 5-Year Gross simply displays the University's expenditures to the company as a vendor of services or products, as captured by Accounts Payable (A/P) for the last 5 fiscal years. If a company parameter was set on the Summary Metrics page, it will still be displaying related data. However, if you would like to switch companies, just change the Company Filter Option and Company Name parameters located along the right hand side of the sheet.
Grants: The Grants tab of the Corporate Relations Dashboard (utilizing the same Company Filter Option, and Company Name parameters) is broken out by two graphs. At the top of report, we are given top-level information regarding grant sponsors, which college/school using the grant, lead investigator with contact on file, and the number of specific grants along with the sum of the grants. The bottom graph delves further into the data by focusing on the specific college/school unit utilizing the award (includes corresponding # of grants and sum totals).
Carry Forward: Carry Forward (utilizing the same basic parameters established – Company Filter Option, Company Name, Grant Status) presents the investigator names, award numbers, and sponsor names related to each grant, along with the anticipated total sum of dollars per grant (anticipated total $), how much of that money was used or not used (expenses), and how much money will be carried over to the next fiscal year (Carry to Next Fiscal by PI).
Proposals: The proposals tab was designed to present the user with all necessary data regarding current, expired, and future proposals in the pipeline. While the cross-tab at the top of the sheet presents pertinent data including sponsor, college/school name, investigator, proposal number, final proposal expiration date, days pending (negative values if expired), proposed total dollars, and grant status, the columnar chart at the bottom of the sheet breaks out the proposals by school and activity type.
Duns Data Dashboard: The Duns Data Dashboard simply uses the Company Filter Option and Company Name parameters to both plot on a map the locations of BOTH the Parent and Child companies (colorized by Source ID). Additionally, above the map display users will find all relevant information related to the parameters, including parent and child business names, line of business (industry), city name, state, duns number, and a contact phone number if applicable.
Alumni: The alumni tab brings forth all relevant alumni and/or interns who have self-reported in OASIS to working for the company being searched in the parameters. Along with the employee’s name and job title, the user will also be able to locate the college/school the alumnus graduated from and in what year, along with all contact information available.
