Data Sources

• Data are sourced from HelioCampus.

Timing

• Data are refreshed weekly.

Prompts

The report can be run using the following prompts. Clarifications are noted below. Please see the Specification Terms for more definitions. 

• Academic Period
  • Shown ask "Term" on the user interface
• School
  • Shown as "College" on the user interface
• Academic Unit
  • Shown as "Department" on the user interface
• Instructor
  • Search by keyword
  • Drop down options defaults to "Starts with any of these keywords".  It is recommended to change this to "Contains any of these keywords" for optimal results.
  • Instructor is defined as an individual that has the Instructor, Instructor Additional, or Teaching Assistant role for the course section.
• Course Subject Number
  • Search by keyword. Examples: "ACC", "BIO", "101"
  • Drop down options defaults to "Starts with any of these keywords".  It is recommended to change this to "Contains any of these keywords" for optimal results.
• Course Section
  • To see course section options, click Refresh Course Section once you have searched for a Course Subject Number

Fields

The following fields are included on the report. Clarifications are noted below. Please see the Specification Terms for more definitions. 

• The first table shows a summary of surveys sent for the selected course section(s) and how many responses were received. The following fields are shown:
  • Course Section Title
  • Course Survey Schedule Name
  • Course Survey Start Date
  • Course Survey End Date
  • Surveys Sent
    • Number of individuals asked to take this survey.
  • Survey Responses
    • Number of individuals asked to take the survey, that submitted responses. Note that the survey does not need to be completely filled out, except for required fields.

• The second table shows a summary of scores for questions asked. It is broken down by Course Section Title, Instructor Name and questions asked on the survey. The following fields are shown:
  • Average Score
    • The sum of the responses divided by the total number of responses.
  • Stnd Dev Score
    • Measures of the amount of variation in the response set. A low standard deviation indicates that the values tend to be close to the mean, while a high standard deviation indicates that the values are spread out over a wider range.
  • Question Response Count
    • Count of responses for this question.
