Cumulative Salary Report by FAO (Cumsal) (Workday)
Purpose
This report tracks pay and benefits allocations and re-allocations paid from any specific Financial Activity Object (FAO). Administrators use this information for budgeting purposes.
This report, like all Cumsal reports, documents pay and benefits allocations according to the University’s financial system. The University’s Human Resource Management System (HRMS) also records salary and pay, and it records it slightly differently. The two systems should record the same amount paid, however they may differ on the date of payment because they differ in how they record re-allocations. Cumsal reports record a re-allocation in the current month even if the re-allocation is for a pay period in a previous month. For example, in June a pay transaction is re-allocated to January of the same year. In contrast, HRMS records the re-allocation in January, not June.
To compare data prior to FY2015, run this report and the FRS version of this report. The FRS version of this report is titled Cumulative Salary by Account.
Description
This columnar report contains the amount of pay and benefits allocated or re-allocated to an employee or a group of employees. Amounts reflect monthly payments. For staff paid bi-weekly, this causes an increase in pay for months with 3 bi-weekly pay dates.
Columns represent types of allocations and benefits data. Four types of allocations are included: regular pay, re-allocated pay, extra pay, and re-allocated extra pay. Benefits data includes rate code, benefit amount, and re-allocated benefit amount, and FY total.
Each row represents an employee. Employees are grouped by the Workday Spend Category.
The user can enter a cost center or company on the search form and retrieve all FAOs (to which he or she has access) for that cost center or company. Users cannot drill to the spend category of an FAO. The FAO is the smallest grain available.
