For every server we implement (backup-server-side), a Veritas (Symantec) NetBackup Enterprise
client key needs to be purchased from Veritas via Serverware. This is a one-time fee for adding
the server to the Enterprise Backup system. This fee is beyond those charged
by DCS for the setup and/or space charges inside the Data Center.
The current license key acquisition process involves the contacting of ServerWare,
an official Veritas reseller. The order for the
license key(s) in question is based on the tier level of the server to be backed
up and the extra services (MS Exchange, MS SQL, Oracle, etc.) on that machine.
A Purchase Order needs to be provided to ServerWare.
Veritas NetBackup DataCenter client key pricing and part numbers are determined
from the current offerings through Veritas, and are subject to change
without notice. It is required that a
current quote be received from ServerWare as they use this quote when placing
the order with Veritas.
License Keys will be shipped on a card or e-mailed as a PDF document, specifying a key number sequence and
the type of license key the number authorizes on the backup server. These keys
should be sent to yourself so that you may properly track their shipment. Record
the information you need for your own records and then forward the original
copy, indicating the system for which the keys are intended for use, to:
