myURHR Workday and UKG

Live December 16, 2024

The University of Rochester is rolling out myURHR, a new modernized Human Resources information system. myURHR consists of Workday and UKG, which will replace HRMS, and both will be available to all employees on December 16, 2024.

Important note: HRMS will remain accessible for limited self-service activities, including downloading W2s, through early 2025.

myURHR October Highlights for Strong Staffing

·       Training: We are a little less than two months away from go-live. If you haven’t logged in to MyPath to get started with your assigned myURHR trainings, now is the time to do it.

Strong Staffing employees working in a University of Rochester position should complete the Core Concepts & Navigating in myURHR Workday course and the Time Entry in myURHR UKG course.

o   Please coordinate training time with your department to ensure completion.

o   If you believe you should have additional trainings in your myURHR transcript, please connect with your manager and HR Business Partner.

·       Meal periods in myURHR UKG: Meal periods for hourly employees will automatically be deducted from the timecard. For Strong Staffing employees, a deduction of 30 minutes will appear on the timecard for all shifts worked that are over six (6) hours.

o   If an employee or department requires a different meal period, the employee will need to punch out and then punch back in for that meal time period. When managers/timekeepers update the staff member’s timecard, they will need to cancel the automatic meal deduction.

·       Overnight Shift December 14-15: myURHR UKG will be live on December 15. Hourly employees working the overnight shift that weekend will follow temporary instructions for punching in and out while time clocks are updated to myURHR UKG. More details to come.

·       myURHR Workday is for your HR-related tasks and actions, such as updating personal information and benefits, and viewing payslips.

·       myURHR UKG is for timekeeping functions, such as entering time worked and submitting time off requests.

o   Strong Staffing employees will enter time worked in myURHR UKG via punch tile or by using the time clock. (Departments will provide guidance if there is a preferred method for submitting time.)

o   Strong Staffing employees working at Highland Hospital will continue to submit paper, approved timecards even after the myURHR go-live.

o   The time clocks will have new buttons, including “In Punch” and “Out Punch”.

o   Employees will enter time worked by “touching” the appropriate button, then “swiping” their ID badge.
Important note: Special instructions will be provided on how to enter hours worked if working an overnight shift from December 14 -December 15. All Strong Staffing employees will begin using myURHR UKG for time entry beginning December 15.

·       Beginning at go-live, Strong Staffing employees can request the use of sick time in UKG.

o   A request for UR SICK by a Strong Staffing employee will be reviewed by the Strong Staffing recruiter before the department is notified.

o   Accrued sick time can be used for medical-related reasons.

·       Similar to today, Strong Staffing employees will receive holiday pay only for holidays they worked. (Holiday pay is not provided unless an employee works on an approved holiday.)

  Thanks,
  Strong Staffing Team
