ARMORED ICON: “Few museum objects inspire such a sense of wonder or stimulate the imagination more than armor, with its evocations of knighthood and chivalry,” says Grant Holcomb, director of the Memorial Art Gallery of one of the gallery’s newest additions to the permanent collection. The 16th-century decorated suit of etched armor—made for German knights and soldiers in the service of the Dukes of Brunswick—went on display this January.
