iThenticate
iThenticate is plagiarism detection software that is designed to be used by researchers to screen written work for originality.
The service allows researchers to easily upload and scan documents, manuscripts, research and other professional works into iThenticate which compares the work against 14 billion web pages and 110 million content items from leading academic publications. iThenticate also serves as an AI writing detection tool.
iThenticate is used by federal government agencies such as the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to check for instances of plagiarism and AI writing detection in submitted proposals.
Utilization of iThenticate prior to proposal submission is optional but highly encouraged. At the current time, iThenticate is available to University of Rochester faculty and researchers. Graduate students that wish to use iThenticate should do so through their faculty advisor.
