March 2022 Feature Release Guide

On March 12th, UR Student completed its March Feature Release upgrade. This release contains the following improvements that affect all users.

Table View Features Reminder (All Users)

Tables view features were announced in March 2021 and are still active for all system-supported tables. However, users can turn it off for a limited time, and the table view tabs will disappear. This feature enhances performance and scalability, making the information more accessible for assistive technology.

Table View Features Still in Place:

  1. Pagination instead of infinite scrolling enables you to jump to a specific page in a table instead of continuously scrolling to find information.
  2. Collapse rows allow you to see more data on your screen.
  3. Improved support for assistive technology makes tables easier to navigate and comprehend.

Academic Period within Academic Progress Tab (Student, Registrar and Staff)

In the Academic Progress tab for schools who use this feature, will now see the term in which the course was taken to meet the requirement.

Reviewed Documents within Personal Profile (Registrar and Student Finance/Bursar)

UR Student now displays UR Student documents reviewed and submitted. To view the document status:

  1. Search for the student within the global search bar using their name or student ID.
  2. Click on their Profile icon, then click on the Documents tab within the Personal category.
  3. On this screen, select Reviewed Documents sub-tab.

Instructor Conflicts (Curriculum Administrator)

UR Student now alerts Curriculum Administrators when they have double booked an instructor for a course section they already have a course they are teaching in. This alert happens when you use the Create Course Section task, Edit Published Course section task, Maintain Custom Meeting Pattern task or Manage Course Offerings for a Course task.

Upgrades to Mass Registration in UR Student (Registrar)
  • Registrars can now mass register students by criteria-based cohorts on the Mass Register Students task, enabling you to choose from more student cohorts for mass registration.
  • Registrars can now search by a student ID in the Students field on the Mass Register Students task, giving you more options for selecting students for mass registration.
  • A new Exclude Students from Selected Student Cohort field is now on the confirmation page after specifying a cohort for mass registration.   1. Maintaining Historical Student Connection
  2. Activating Historical Academic Records – Credit Articulation
  3. Run and Print a Single Transcript
