Modernization

  • Status: Assessment and Master Plan Integration/ Construction

This effort reflects the University’s broader strategic commitment to enhancing the student experience.

  • Project Size: 560,000 sq ft

A new cross-disciplinary science and engineering building is being envisioned for River Campus, designed to house modern research laboratories and provide critical opportunities for student experiential learning. Part of the University’s Boundless Possibility strategic plan, the project has received unanimous approval from its Board of Trustees to advance the new facility into schematic design, a significant milestone for what will be the largest investment in science and engineering facilities on the River Campus in nearly six decades.

The building will provide approximately 310,000 net square feet of state-of-the-art research and teaching space, reinforcing the university’s commitment to scientific discovery, academic excellence, and the student experience. The project is expected to move into design development by the end of summer, with construction anticipated in the coming years.
