With seven schools, nearly 12,000 students, six hospitals comprising a leading academic medical center and the nation’s premier optics institute, the University of Rochester is a place where the exceptional gets better.
We are a top-tier research institution that knows the importance of engaging across disciplines. Centers of excellence like the Beal Institute for Film Music and Contemporary Media, Center for Visual Science, Goergen Institute for Data Science, Humanities Center, Institute of Optics, and Laboratory for Laser Energetics unite scholars throughout the University.
From Arts & Sciences, the Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences, and the Simon Business School to the Warner School of Education, Eastman School of Music, and Schools of Nursing and Medicine and Dentistry, the University of Rochester is home to rigorous academic programs in every field.

From athletics and libraries to campus infrastructure, the University seeks investment in targeted areas that will power significant advancements in the immediate term.
Athletics and Recreation aspires to be one of the leading non-scholarship programs in the country. Funding for coaching, programs, and facilities will allow us to expand recruiting, competition, and travel.
The River Campus Libraries seeks funds for the Barbara J. Burger iZone, a to-be-built space that will foster innovation and provide students with a collaborative hub where they can develop grand ideas. Support for the Carlson Library will develop technology rich learning areas for research and a makerspace.
The Memorial Art Gallery seeks to build and balance their permanent collection by securing major gifts from important private collections for the Centennial Sculpture Park and gallery collection displays.
Improvements to campus infrastructure will help three particular schools accelerate their progress.
The Eastman School of Music plans facility improvements that enhance teaching while providing state-of-the-art technology for studying and making music.
The Simon Business School will transform its environment by renovating the offices of admissions, career services, and student engagement, creating meeting spaces and fostering deeper collaboration around the student experience.
The Eastman Institute for Oral Health is focusing on a special care clinic for individuals with developmental disabilities, and separate multidisciplinary clinics.
