What’s the difference between seeing a physician, PA, and NP?
Physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners bring various approaches and training to healthcare teams, but all have a key role in providing care. Medical Center experts break down the differences.
Yellowjacket Weekend, the first community weekend and one of the first Rochester Traditions of the academic year, takes place August 27 through September 2. Rochester will be alive with a variety of fun activities to celebrate the beginning of the semester, including the Activities Fair, Drag Bingo with Miz Cracker, and a back-to-school BBQ. All undergraduate students can enjoy giveaways, poster sales, movie nights, and athletic events.
Register today for the fall 2025 cohort of the Mindful Professor Training program, based on cutting-edge research designed to support faculty and instructors in cultivating tools for emotional regulation, resilience, and mindful leadership, while also enhancing teaching effectiveness and strategies to support student well-being. Sessions will be held on Wednesdays in the School of Nursing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Free coffee will be provided. The program is open to all University faculty and course instructors.
Get help with back-to-school tasks from Care.com
FamilyCare, offered through the Office of Total Rewards, makes it easy to check back-to-school planning off your list so you can enjoy the rest of your summer. Whether you are looking for a new housekeeper, need help with the morning school run, or just a babysitter to give you a night out, you can find it all with your free Care membership. Visit the Family Care web page for eligibility criteria and to enroll.
Designed for Medical Center physicians and healthcare leaders with an advanced degree, the program offers a unique opportunity to sharpen your business acumen and strengthen your healthcare management skills, without the commitment of a full graduate degree program. Admission priority is given to Medical Center leaders who plan to pursue all four modules. Spring cohort size is limited, so apply early.
