Annual security and fire safety report now available
The University’s 2025 annual security and fire safety report, previously titled “Think Safe,” is now available. To access the report, visit the Department of Public Safety’s website; request a printed copy from the DPS office at 612 Wilson Boulevard; or call (585) 275-3437 to have a copy mailed to you. The report provides information about campus security and personal safety, including crime prevention strategies, fire safety protocols, University law enforcement authority, how to report crimes, disciplinary procedures, and crime and fire statistics for the past three calendar years. These statistics cover reported incidents that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University, and on public property within or immediately adjacent to campus.
University flags on the Eastman Quadrangle and near the entrance of Strong Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department will be lowered on Tuesday, October 14, for Suzette Scobey, a senior RN 2 in the Lattimore North Medical Oncology Department, who died on September 8. Scobey joined the University staff in 1994.
Alumni board member Adam Konowe ’90 will visit the University on Friday, October 3, to present two Medallion Program workshops. He will lead “Active Listening” from 10 to 11 a.m. and “Introduction to Personal Branding” from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Genesee Hall, Room 308. Find details and register at the links above.
Library open house for River Campus graduate students
On Wednesday, October 8, all River Campus graduate students are invited to meet and connect with library staff and learn more about the services offered. Data de-identification service available
The Office of the Vice President for Research, in conjunction with the Clinical & Translational Science Institute, offers a data de-identification service available to the University research community. This service can help with the removal or masking of elements in research data sets that contain Protected Health Information before publicly sharing or publishing data, as required by certain funding agencies or journals. Zine-making workshop
The Department of Learning Initiatives at the River Campus Libraries invites you to the first installment of the Pocket-Sized Print Phrontistery Series, “Fold it, Fill It, Flaunt it: How-To Zines.” Learn how to design and build your own zine that teaches, explains, or inspires. Info session on the RN First Assistant program
The RN First Assistant program prepares CNORs (Certified Nurse-Operating Room) to take on an expanded role and empowers APRNs (Advanced Practice Registered Nurses) to follow their surgical patients throughout the perioperative experience.
