Gabrielle Meli ’22, above, was one of seven senior studio art majors in the Department of Art and Art History who presented an interdisciplinary thesis exhibition at the end of the 2022 spring semester. Meli’s show, Birefringence, refers to a phenomenon that occurs when plane-polarized light passes through minerals under a microscope.
Singer Awards recognize high school teachers’ influence on graduating seniors
University flags on the Eastman Quadrangle and near the entrance of Strong Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department will be lowered Tuesday, May 17, for Jill Spence, a senior information analyst in pharmacy at Strong Memorial Hospital, who died on April 16. Spence joined the University staff in 2003.
Attend a writing boot camp Tuesday, May 17, through Thursday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT each day. Join in person at Rush Rhees Library, Room G-121, Conference Room A, or via Zoom. The University, as a member of the Worldwide Universities Network, is eligible to participate in the Public Health Global Challenge Workshop on Mental Health on Thursday, May 12. Lecture on building organizational cultures of excellence
In celebration and recognition of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Esther Choo, an associate professor in the Center for Policy and Research in Emergency Medicine at Oregon Health and Science University and a founding member of TIME’S UP Healthcare, will share a presentation, “Building Organizational Cultures of Excellence.” Register to attend the virtual lecture, taking place Tuesday, May 17, at 6 p.m. EDT.
