Flu vaccination program for Medical Center employees
Medical Center faculty, staff, students, and volunteers with a University ID can now receive their free flu shot at any of the available walk-in clinics. Vaccinations can also be completed at the Strong Memorial Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy (in the main lobby) and through available department mobile carts. If you come in contact with patients and receive your flu vaccination from another provider—or if you choose not to receive a flu vaccination—you must go online and complete the Flu Vaccination Status Form by Friday, November 11. The form and additional campaign details are available on the Medical Center’s FluSource intranet site. (University network access required).
The “Mindful Practice in Medicine Core Workshop: Find Joy and Resilience, and Enhance Quality of Care” was developed by physicians to help medical practitioners and educators respond to the erosion of joy in their work. The workshop takes place October 12–15 at the Chapin Mill Retreat Center in Batavia; learn more and register online. Discounted registration fees end on September 28.

Join the Department of History’s 2022 Verne Moore Lecturer Christy Pichichero, an associate professor of French and history and director of faculty diversity in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at George Mason University, for a conversation about imposter syndrome and discriminatory gaslighting in the contemporary academy, today, September 13, at noon in the Gamble Room, Rush Rhees Library. ‘HIGHER Conference for Women in Higher Education’
The Institutional Office of Equity and Inclusion is hosting the “HIGHER Conference for Women in Higher Education,” taking place Thursday, September 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Feldman Ballroom, Frederick Douglass Commons.
The HIGHER conference is designed to create space for conversations and connections that empower women in higher education to push through barriers to reach their career goals and to pull other women up along the way. Each year in cities across the US, HIGHER equips hundreds of women in higher education with the resources and relationships to advance their careers. You are encouraged to share this event with colleagues and friends, including those at other nearby institutions.
