Study shows hay fever among school children leads to worse asthma outcomes
A study of school children conducted by Medical Center researchers has found that the majority of children with asthma also reported having allergic rhinitis, or hay fever. Led by Jessica Stern, an assistant professor of medicine and of pediatrics, the study found that children with both asthma and hay fever had worse asthma outcomes.

The Office of Disability Resources is looking for faculty members to join its Faculty Accessibility Ambassador Project. The office is recruiting 24 faculty members from across the University who are interested in receiving training to become its first cohort of accessibility ambassadors. Year-long support and training will be provided as it relates to disability issues, facilitating accommodations, creating accessible materials, and implementing Universal Design for Learning strategies in classrooms. This opportunity is being made possible by funding from the NY State Education Department Enhancing Supports and Services for Students with Disabilities Grant for Postsecondary Success. Engerman Lecture: ‘Career and Family: Then and Now’
Claudia Goldin, the Henry Lee Professor of Economics at Harvard University, presents “Career and Family: Then and Now,” as part of the Department of Economics’ Engerman Lecture Series on Wednesday, September 28. The lecture takes place from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Hubbell Auditorium, Hutchison Hall.
