Faculty appointed to named professorships

Several faculty members were appointed to named professorships during the first half of 2024. An honor designed to recognize the national stature of a professor’s work, the named positions are part of a long-standing tradition to celebrate the work of Rochester’s faculty as researchers, scholars, and teachers.

Flags will be lowered for Kay Pfluke

University flags on the Eastman Quadrangle and near the entrance of Strong Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department will be lowered on Thursday, August 1, for Kay Pfluke, an ambulatory technician III in the Pelvic Health/Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing Department, who died on July 15. Pfluke joined the University staff in 1988.

HRMS is going away; training launches for myURHR

On September 23, myURHR will replace HRMS. The best way to ensure you and your team are prepared is to complete training. myURHR training is now underway for managers and coordinators, including those who take care of Personnel Action Forms. On August 1, training will launch for timekeeping roles and the majority of faculty and staff.
