Registration open for new course in health care data visualization and Tableau
The UR Medicine Quality Institute and the Simon Business School announce a new introductory course in health care data visualization and interpretation. Course registration is open on a space-available basis through Wednesday, August 28, and class begins in early September. The focus of the seven-week course is on learning to understand, analyze, and gain insights from healthcare datasets usingTableau. It is a practical, hands-on course that is offered in a high-flex format, which means participants can attend class in person or via Zoom, whatever fits their schedules best. Additionally, the class is eligible for University tuition benefits; eligible employees may have 80–95 percent of the course cost covered.

“Conversations on Academic Leadership” is a year-long forum for information and exchange among University leaders designed to assist faculty newly appointed to administrative positions in acclimating to their roles. Register here for upcoming sessions.
Pragmatic and Humane Legal Guidance for Academic Leadership and Supervision: Wednesday, September 25, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
The annual M&T Bank Clothesline Art Festival takes place September 7 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Memorial Art Gallery. Special MAG member shopping begins at 9:30 on both days.
Over 300 artists from across the country offer their work for purchase at this juried, two-day festival. It’s also the place to experience all-day live entertainment, sample food from some of Rochester’s favorite food trucks and vendors, enjoy free family art activities, and visit the museum. The 2024 New York RNA Symposium in the Finger Lakes, co-organized by the University’s Center for RNA Biology in collaboration with the RNA Institute at the University of Albany, will be held October 14 and 15.
