In the face of rising data breaches such as the National Public Data leak, Information Security reminds the University community of the importance of protecting yourself by using unique passwords for each account (a password manager can help), enabling two-factor authentication on sensitive accounts, monitoring financial statements, and considering credit monitoring and freezes to prevent unauthorized access. Alumni panel on demystifying technical interviewing
Join the Greene Center virtually on Wednesday, September 4, at 7 p.m. for an alumni panel event to kick off the Demystifying Technical Interviewing: A Day to Practice and Learn program. Learn firsthand from alumni as they share their experiences, advice, and tips for success during technical interviews. Bring your questions or submit them ahead of time to Mindy Peet. Study Zone Program opens September 9
Located within the Learning Center in Dewey Hall, Room 1-160D, the Study Zone is a quiet, focused place to work. Students commit to spending at least three hours per week in the Study Zone and benefit from peer support in planning effective study sessions. By providing a productive location, personal support, and free snacks, this informal study location will help students get past common barriers to turn their academic goals into reality. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. The program serves students in the School of Arts & Sciences, the Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences, the School of Medicine and Dentistry, Simon Business School, and the Warner School of Education and Human Development. Health Bites webinar on alleviating back pain at work
Join UR Medicine EAP, Well-U, and Matt Driscoll of Driscoll Chiropractic on Tuesday, September 10, at noon for how minor changes to your working environment can create big changes in your everyday life. Attend a Warner School of Education and Human Development virtual information session from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, to learn more about graduate programs in applied behavior analysis, counseling, educational leadership, education policy, health professions education, higher education, human development, online teaching, program evaluation, and teaching. Since the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree was first introduced 20 years ago, DNP-prepared nurses have become perfectly positioned to transform clinical practice and health policy. This year’s DNP Summit, “Innovation & Inspiration,” will welcome national leaders to discuss successes and opportunities for innovation in DNP practice, education, and leadership.
