Study shows RSV vaccines are effective, more people need to get them
Since their introduction last year, researchers have been monitoring the real-world impact of the new respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccines. Angela Branche, an associate professor of medicine and co-principle investigator for the Vaccine Treatment and Evaluation Unit, details what has been learned during the vaccine’s first season.

Join University Health Service for “The Body Project,” a free, four-week evidence-based body acceptance program aimed at helping women challenge unrealistic appearance ideals. Through engaging group discussions and interactive activities, participants will gain valuable insights into developing a healthier body image and self-esteem. Open to all undergraduate and graduate women, the program has proven effective in reducing body dissatisfaction and promoting body positivity. Nonbinary students are also welcome, although the focus is on femme-presenting societal ideals. Sessions will be held in the UHS Reifler Room on November 4, 11, 18, and 25 from 4 to 5 p.m. Find more information and register.

‘Sketch night’ with Carol Acquilano at MAG
Artist and the Memorial Art Gallery’s former art preparator Carol Acquilano will guide participants through drawing things from nature and outdoor scenes. Registered attendees get a free sketchbook. The event takes place on Thursday, November 14, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Advance registration is required; seats are limited.
LGBTQ Life office hours
LGBTQ Life hosts biweekly office hours at the Eastman School of Music, Simon Business School, Warner School of Education, the School of Nursing and Human Development, and the School of Medicine and Dentistry. These sessions are made to host LGBTQ community building through casual activities such as coloring, be a space for LGBTQ students to share their thoughts and experiences at the University, and for the wider University community to ask questions about how to better include and represent LGBTQ+ individuals in their work.
