Two Rochester faculty members named fellows of National Academy of Inventors
Steve Goldman (left), the Dean Zutes Chair in Biology of the Aging Brain in the Department of Neurology and URMC Distinguished Professor of Neurology, and Eby Friedman, a Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, have been elected as fellows of the National Academy of Inventors. This is the highest professional distinction awarded solely to inventors.
@Rochester holiday break
We’re planning to put @Rochester on a brief hiatus at the end of the year. The last issue of 2024 is planned for Friday, December 20, and publication will resume on Monday, January 6.
We will again include a listing of holiday hours for non-clinical offices and services around the University in the Wednesday, December 18, issue of @Rochester; clinical offices should follow their standard policies for holidays. Schwartz Performing Arts Fund
The Institute for the Performing Arts announces the launch of the Schwartz Performing Arts Fund, which offers financial support for performing arts projects at the University. The fund is designed to support activities that advance the performing arts and involve students in meaningful ways. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with grants of up to $10,000 available per project, with most grants awarded at a level of $5,000. Applications are welcome from University faculty, both adjunct and full-time, across all departments throughout the academic year. Learn more and apply here.

Visit the Campus Mail Center this holiday season to get your packages where they need to go. Choose from domestic and international shipping services through USPS, UPS, and FedEx, and find supplies for purchase, including Forever stamps in seasonal designs. Mail packages as early as possible so they can make their way to their destination promptly. The mail center is located on the lower level of Todd Union.
