UR Ventures announces 2024 Technology Development Fund awardees
This year, the University will fund three researchers through the Technology Development Fund (TDF), conceived as a tool to provide targeted funding that de-risks University-developed technologies and advances them toward commercialization. Complete harassment and discrimination training by December 31
Faculty and staff have limited time remaining to complete the University’s required annual training on identifying and reacting to workplace harassment and discrimination. New York State’s Sexual Harassment Prevention training is available in MyPath and must be completed by December 31. It will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. For more information, frequently asked questions about the training, and additional online and in-person training opportunities, visit the Office of Equity and Inclusion.
2025–26 pilot award in aging research
The Aging Institute is soliciting grant applications to support up to two aging research projects, with a focus on basic or clinical aging research topics. It is anticipated that one award will be in basic aging research and one in clinical aging research. Pilot research that falls anywhere along the translational research continuum is welcome. The award level is up to $50,000 for one year per award. Find more information on the institute’s mission, vision, and priorities, and how to apply.
Enroll in HSM 465: Health Care Data Visualization and Analytics
Simon Business School and the UR Medicine Quality Institute are partnering to offer HSM 465: Health Care Data Visualization and Analytics, a course designed for patient care providers and non-clinical staff. Learn skills including data literacy, pivot tables, and choosing key process indicators—critical for making informed, impactful health care decisions. HSM 465 can also serve as a pathway for those considering advanced studies—credits earned will transfer to Simon’s MS in Medical Management program, should you choose to further your studies.
The course qualifies for University tuition benefits and is offered in a high flex modality (attend in person or via Zoom). Register for the course here.
Attend the 2025 Tana Grady-Weliky Annual Lecture on Thursday, February 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the School of Medicine and Dentistry. Grady-Weliky was a nationally recognized expert in medical student education and the treatment of women’s mental health disorders. Register and learn more about this year’s event, which includes special speakers, panelists, and a plaque dedication to Bertrand Boddie.
