Webinar on Department of Public Health Sciences master’s programs
Join faculty from the Department of Public Health Sciences for a webinar on master’s programs on Wednesday, February 5, from noon to 12:30 p.m. Programs are designed to prepare graduates for careers in four areas: public health (MPH online and online/on-campus hybrid), health services research and policy (MS-HSRP), epidemiology (MS-EPI), and clinical research (MS-CI). The webinar will highlight key elements of each program and discuss program requirements and the application process, as well as the accelerated public health program for undergraduates. ‘How to Publish in the Humanities’ series
Events are scheduled for the spring How to Publish in the Humanities series, taking place in the Hawkins-Carlson Room, Rush Rhees Library. Sessions are free and open to the public, and food and refreshments are provided.

Save the dates for Restorative Dialogues series sessions
The Office of Equity and Inclusion and the Susan B. Anthony Center offer the Restorative Dialogues series, open to all University students, staff, and faculty during the spring semester. Save the dates for sessions, which will all be held virtually from noon to 1 p.m.: Thursday, February 13; Tuesday, March 11; Thursday, April 10; Tuesday, May 6; and Tuesday, June 10.
Meditation class for the Black community
“Meditative Guide for Us” is a program designed to support the University’s Black community. Through techniques like deep breathing, visualization, and guided meditation, the class creates a safe space to address racial stress, prioritize self-care, and unlock your creative potential. Join the one-time workshop on Sunday, February 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., or register for the four-week course starting on March 20.
Expand your nursing role with the RN First Assistant program
The School of Nursing’s RN First Assistant program prepares CNORs (Certified Nurse-Operating Room) to take on an expanded role, and empowers APRNs (Advanced Practice Registered Nurses) to follow their surgical patients throughout the perioperative experience. Throughout a six-week intensive course of interactive online learning activities, two days of hands-on learning and simulation, and a 200-hour clinical internship, discover how to expand the impact of your nursing practice and improve patient care. Satcher Community Health Improvement Awards call for nominations
The Center for Community Health & Prevention is seeking nominations for its 16th annual Dr. David Satcher Community Health Improvement Awards. The deadline for nominations is noon on Monday, March 10. Learn more and find the nomination form here. Faculty, staff, and Medical Center community partners are encouraged to nominate colleagues for their significant contributions to community health through research, teaching, practice, or service programs.
The awards are set to take place at noon on Friday, May 9, in the Class of ’62 Auditorium (G-9425), School of Medicine and Dentistry. This year’s keynote speaker is Jannette Berkley-Patton, a professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine Biomedical and Health Informatics Department and director of the university’s Health Equity Institute.
