Website provides updates and guidance on federal policy changes

A new University website has been launched to share updates and guidance for the University community on federal policy changes. Here, you’ll find the most recent University messages on executive orders and announcements; guidance for researchers; an FAQ designed to answer questions that faculty, staff, and students may have; and a web form where community members can submit questions. The University continues to track and assess all administrative actions and their implications. While awaiting further guidance from federal agencies, the University will continue to comply with all state and federal laws governing its programs and remains deeply committed to the well-being of its community and its Meliora values in pursuit of research, health care, and education missions.

In today’s issue:

  • Programs supporting student well-being for faculty and student support staff
  • Attend or participate in the second annual Frederick Douglass Read-A-Thon
  • Nominations are due this week for the Presidential Awards for Inclusive Excellence

SECURITY TIP

Falling in love versus falling victim to romance scams

Dating apps and social networking have become popular for people trying to meet someone new. University IT shares that users may find themselves tangled up in more than just romance. These fraudsters invest several months learning about the victim’s life and professing their love to gain their target’s trust and ask for money. The FTC warns consumers of the red flags that scammers use to get into your wallet. Social media and dating sites continue to monitor and block suspicious behavior. However, awareness and vigilance are key to avoid getting crushed by online romance scams. For more social media safety tips, visit University IT’s website.
