The E5 Program allows students to extend their academic journey with a free fifth year of study. The program is designed for highly motivated students who want to gain additional academic, professional, or research experience before entering the workforce. With the E5 Program, students can explore advanced coursework, internships, and projects to enhance their skills and knowledge without the financial burden of tuition for their fifth year. HRMS, the University’s previous human resources system that was replaced by myURHR, is available for limited self-service activities through April 30. Faculty and staff interested in saving past W-2s, payslips prior to the myURHR Workday and UKG implementation, or Total Rewards statements in HRMS should do so before that date. In Well-U’s diabetes program, your personal wellness coach will provide tips and resources to check your blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol. You will also gain the skills to identify symptoms of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia and know what to do when they occur. Find a coach and get started.
This season, the University’s Virtual Book Club is reading The Bird Hotel by Joyce Maynard, which follows a young American who rebuilds her life by running a Central American village hotel. ‘Under Pressure: The New Demands of Scholarly Publishing’
Scholarly publishing is evolving, creating additional demands on researchers. On March 20 at 4 p.m., a panel titled “Under Pressure: The New Demands of Scholarly Publishing” will bring together publishing experts and experienced researchers from different disciplines to address some of the challenges of the current environment. The event takes place in the Humanities Center, Conference Room D. An informal reception will follow.
Kingian Nonviolence Series at the Gandhi Institute
Rooted in Martin Luther King Jr.’s teachings, Kingian Nonviolence is a philosophy and practice for transforming conflict and fostering justice. This interactive, four-week session through the MK Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence explores the core principles and real-world applications of nonviolence. Attend on Mondays beginning April 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
