Social media security experts report an increase in clickbait posts, messages, and comments designed to trick you into clicking links. Examples include tagged messages like “I’m really going to miss him” with an obituary link. These fake links lead to pages that ask for your social media login, aiming to steal your credentials. University IT reminds you to avoid clicking on such links to protect your account. The BBB provides additional insight into this scam and how to protect yourself.
All students are invited to Collage Night, sponsored by the University Counseling Center, today, April 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. in Wilson Commons, Room 122. Materials will be provided. The annual Genetics Day Poster Symposium takes place on Monday, April 28, with a keynote lecture from Marisa Bartolomei, the Perelman Professor of Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of Pennsylvania.

Satcher Awards celebrate faculty improving community health
Join the Center for Community Health & Prevention at noon on Friday, May 9, for the 16th annual Dr. David Satcher Community Health Improvement Awards. Early-state faculty awardee Wyatte Hall, an assistant professor of public health sciences and director of the Visual Language Access and Acquisition Lab, and senior faculty awardee Charles Kamen, an associate professor of surgery and of psychiatry and associate director for community outreach and engagement at the Wilmot Cancer Institute, will be honored. Free public tours at the C.E.K. Mees Observatory
The Department of Physics and Astronomy offers free in-person tours of the C.E.K. Mees Observatory in Bristol Hills, south of Canandaigua, from June through mid-August. Tours include a visit to the historic Gannett House as well as presentations on astronomy topics, a demonstration of the Cassegrain reflector telescope, and observation of deep sky objects if the skies are clear. Reservations are required.
