University IT, ISD, and Information Security groups are keeping a close eye on the latest updates from various security agencies about increased Iranian cyber activity. Currently, there is no specific threat, but the University and Medical Center have security measures in place and are ready to tighten controls if needed. Everyone is advised to be extra cautious and watch out for phishing and other potential scams. If you receive unexpected requests via email or text, verify them through known contacts. Forward any suspicious emails to abuse@rochester.edu as an attachment. Review the Phishing Education web page for examples. More information will be provided if the situation changes.
