University flags on the Eastman Quadrangle and near the entrance of Strong Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department, and the flags atop the Eastman Theatre at the corner of Gibbs and Main Streets, will be lowered on Thursday, April 2, for Katelyn Boldt, a quality and safety specialist in Orthopaedics and Physical Performance, who died on February 16. Boldt joined the University in 2013.

URochester researchers led by Matt Rand, an associate professor of environmental medicine, are investigating whether natural biological changes during pregnancy help reduce a fetus’s exposure to mercury.

Tax season is a prime time for scammers who impersonate the IRS to create panic and urgency. Be cautious of messages that claim there’s a problem with your taxes and demand immediate action. University IT offers the following tips:

• Be skeptical of unexpected calls, texts, or emails claiming to be the IRS
• Never share sensitive information or click links from a surprise message
• If you’re unsure, verify using official IRS contact information, not the phone number or link provided in the message

UKG will perform system maintenance on Friday, March 27, from 6 to 10 p.m. UKG mobile and web application access will be unavailable during these 4 hours. UKG time clocks will still accept swipes during this time, and swipes will be captured in the UKG application once the maintenance period ends. No action is required.
