Recent award recipients include:

• Michael Burritt, the Paul J. Burgett Distinguished Professor and a professor of percussion at the Eastman School of Music, is among six musicians named to the Percussive Arts Society’s 2026 Hall of Fame Class.
• Lauren Ghazal, an assistant professor and researcher at the School of Nursing, received the Oncology Nursing Society’s 2026 Victoria Mock New Investigator Award.
• Ali Goli, an assistant professor of marketing at Simon Business School, has been named a 2025 Marketing Science Institute Young Scholar.
• Yanan Guo, an assistant professor of computer science, is the senior author of a study that won a Distinguished Paper award at the 47th IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy.
• Pengfei “Frank” Huo, the Dean and Laura Marvin Endowed Professor in Physical Chemistry and an associate professor of optics, has received the 2026 Emily A. Carter Early Career Award in Theoretical Chemistry from the Physical Chemistry Division of the American Chemical Society.
• Alex Iosevich, a professor of mathematics, has been named a 2026 Simons Fellow in Mathematics by the Simons Foundation’s Mathematical & Physical Sciences.
• Bryanna Moore, an assistant professor of health humanities and bioethics, of philosophy, and of pediatrics, will join the Class of 2029 Greenwall Faculty Scholars.
• Simon Business School’s Joanna Wu, the Susanna and Evans Y. Lam Professor, and Vivek Pandey, an assistant professor, along with coauthor and PhD student Xingyu Shen ’26S (PhD), have received the FARS Midyear Meeting Connecting to Practice Award for their paper, presented by the Financial Accounting and Reporting Section of the American Accounting Association.
• Elena Prager, an assistant professor of economics at Simon Business School, has been named to the 2026 40 Under 40 MBA Professors list by Poets&Quants.
• Agnes Thorarinsdottir, an assistant professor of chemistry, has been granted a Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award from the National Science Foundation.

New URochester Medicine research shows that growing demand for a minimally invasive aortic valve replacement by adults under 65 with aortic stenosis may put many at greater risk for potentially more complicated heart surgeries later.
