Flags will be lowered for Hanna Mieszczanska |
University flags on the Eastman Quadrangle and near the entrance of Strong Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department, and the flags atop the Eastman Theatre at the corner of Gibbs and Main Streets, will be lowered on Thursday, July 16, for Hanna Mieszczanska, a professor of medicine, who died on May 29. Mieszczanska joined the University in 2002.

The Language Center is offering a free four-week program, July 21 through August 12, designed to help international graduate students strengthen their academic English skills and gain confidence navigating communication in US academic settings.

Register by July 20 for Simon’s Generative AI in Practice Micro-Credential |
This 0.5-credit online course is designed for those who are newer to GenAI and provides hands-on practice in using, designing, and building generative AI tools to create immediate value. Sessions will be held July 29, August 5, and August 12 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. URochester employee tuition benefits are accepted. Register by July 20.

Each week, we spotlight a faculty or staff member who has been recognized as a UR Star. Kim Fluet, an assistant clinical professor at the Warner School of Education & Human Development, was recognized for demonstrating excellence.
