COVID-19 testing update from UHS

COVID-19 surveillance testing program

Throughout the fall semester, University Health Service (UHS) will be testing 400 asymptomatic students each week as part of the ongoing COVID-19 surveillance testing program. Full-time students living on and off campus will be randomly selected to receive the test through this program. Surveillance testing will enable the University to monitor the number of asymptomatic infections and provide the opportunity to respond quickly if the number of positive tests should increase.

Students selected for testing are notified by email and students must comply with this request, with the only exceptions being for students who are not currently in Rochester or who are 100 percent online with their classes and not on campus for the fall semester. For questions about surveillance testing, write to kmcneil@uhs.rochester.edu.

COVID-19 testing for off-campus students

From August 26 to September 18, UHS offered COVID-19 testing upon request to off-campus students. UHS is now only selecting off-campus students for testing as part of the surveillance testing program.

However, any student who is having symptoms should always call UHS at (585) 275-2662 immediately to make an appointment to be tested.

Other options for COVID-19 testing
