Become an Ambassador

At the heart of our Day of Giving are our volunteers and ambassadors. They share their enthusiasm and pride for the University of Rochester and Medical Center and help inspire others to join in the excitement.

There are many ways to participate as a Day of Giving ambassador:

1. Spread the word to your network via email
2. Download our ambassador toolkit graphics and share on social media
3. Make a gift of your own
4. Become a peer-to-peer fundraiser and help raise funds for the areas of the University you care about most

When you sign-up to be a Day of Giving volunteer/ambassador, you will receive a special gift as a token of our appreciation!

Get your peer-to-peer fundraising link

The Day of Giving champion tool makes it easy for passionate and caring individuals to fundraise for causes they care about. Champions will choose the area they want to advocate for, set a donor and dollar goal, write a personal appeal, and receive their own personal fundraising link, which is easily shareable.

Your friends and family may feel inspired to give when they better understand why the campaign is important to you. Be sure to share your personal connection to the cause—How did this area of the University impact you? How may it impact others? Why does it matter?

To get your personal fundraising link, follow the instructions below.

Step 1

If you wish to champion our overall Day of Giving campaign, click on the Get Your Personal Share Link button on the Day of Giving homepage. If you wish to champion a particular school, program, department, or cause, search for that support area, navigate to their fundraising page, and then click on the Get Your Personal Share Link button from that page.

Step 2

Input your email to join the community of champions and click Send Confirmation Email.

Step 3

You will receive an automated email from our Day of Giving website vendor, info@communityfunded.com. Click the Let’s do this button. Be sure to check your spam folder if it is not in your inbox. Follow the prompts in the email to finish logging in.
Note: it may take a few minutes to receive this email.

Step 4

Fill out your details and click confirm when complete. Note: If you want to use a picture, be sure to add it now. You will not be able to go back and add it later.

Step 5

Once you complete the set up and you are fully logged into the champion tool, click setup your appeal / edit in the top right corner of the campaign you chose to champion.

Step 6

Fill out the information requested – set your personal fundraising goals and write your personal appeal message. Be sure to write why you care about the cause and ask people for their support. Hit save changes when done.

Step 7

You are now ready to share your personal appeal to your friends, family, and colleagues! Click on the social media buttons to share directly through your channels or copy and paste your personal fundraising link into a message.
