Depending on where and when they were produced, Bordeaux and Bordeaux-inspired reds can take anywhere from a couple of years to several decades to reach their prime. Though separated by a few years, the two here have reached prime time. The 2000 Chateau Montrose (St.-Estèphe) was huge in its youth, but has developed finesse to go along with its rich fruit. The 2015 Inglenook Rubicon Napa Valley Red Wine was bold and sumptuous on release and remains so while slowly revealing intriguing nuances.
