8/24/2015 – The first August Journal Article has been added to the medical archives. It is called “Spread of Infectious Microbes During Emergency Medical Response” and concerns the all-too-frequent transmission of bacteriophages to patients during EMS responses. 5/2/15 – The May Journal Article has been added to the Medical Archives! It is called “Chinese Scientists Genetically Modify Human Embryos” and is about the recent controversial usage of CRISPR/Cas9 to modify the genome of an embryo. Navigate to the Medical Archives tab for more details!

4/16/15 – The second April Journal Article has been added to the Medical Archives! This article is a direct view into the Emergency Room, and gives a detailed account of the progression of a critical patient through the diagnosis and treatment process, complete with a discussion from several ER doctors. Up to the challenge of differential diagnosis? The article is “Case Study: A 28-year-old Woman with Headache, Fever, and a Rash” (Manian, F. A., and Alame, D.) and was published in the New England Journal of Medicine on April 7, 2015. It is of particular medical interest to the UR community and MERT, given recent events.

4/3/15 – A new article has been uploaded to the Medical Archives! This week’s is “The Efficacy of Folic Acid Therapy in Primary Prevention of Stroke” (Huo, Y. et al., 2015), published in JAMA (The Journal of the American Medical Association). Get your fill of B-vitamins, people!

This week’s article is “Genomic Medicine and the Future of Healthcare” (Sander, C., 2000), published in Science. 12/04/13 – The Standby form has now been digitized and is available for use under the Contact Us page. You can now recommend/comment on potential RC MERT applicants under the “Prospective Members” tab in the Dashboard. Additionally, there is a Medical Emergency Guides page, as well as a Resources page under the Medical Amnesty tab. Check out all of these updates!
11/18/13 – There is now a new Comments section under the Contact Us page where you will be able to submit your thoughts, concerns and comments either with your name or anonymously. Please use this as an opportunity to express your ideas for the website, as well your feedback on various aspects of our organization.
