Jerry Greenfield, co-founder of Ben & Jerry's Homemade Ice Cream Inc., travels to promote an alternative business model based on socially responsible business practices and fun management styles.
Greenfield and Ben Cohen grew up attending junior high and high school together. Years later, they began researching the ice-cream industry. After receiving A's in a $5 Penn State correspondence course in ice cream making, they set up their first Ben & Jerry's ice cream parlor in Burlington, Vt., in May 1978.
The talk is sponsored by the Campus Activities Board, Dining Services, the UR Center for Entrepreneurship, UR Grassroots, and Simon Entrepreneurs Club.
