TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: 8 p.m., Thursday, March 1, in Strong Auditorium on the University's River Campus
ADMISSION: Free and open to the public
The University of Rochester Wind Symphony is comprised of talented undergraduates, staff, faculty, and members of the Rochester community. Currently under the direction of William Tiberio, the wind symphony performs traditional and contemporary wind works as well as transcriptions from other genres.
The River Campus Jazz Ensemble is a roughly 20-member group dedicated to performing a variety of both big band and contemporary jazz works. The jazz ensemble is currently under the direction of Miles Brown.
This concert marks the second year of a collaborative effort between the two groups. It will feature Brown and Tiberio performing one piece each with the other's ensemble, with Brown playing string bass with the wind symphony and Tiberio performing on saxophone with the jazz ensemble.
