Art Awake, a student-run arts and music festival held this year on April 10, brings life to underused spaces in downtown Rochester and connects students with their community through art.
In its third year, ArtAwake "invaded" the former First National Bank, a grand space with marble columns and elaborate murals. Built in 1924, it has stood vacant since 1988.
ArtAwake featured more than 150 pieces of art, interactive exhibits, and historical exhibits on the bank and downtown. More than 20 local musicians performed on three different stages throughout the venue.
