Ronald Braney was promoted to major in the Marine Corps. He serves at
Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. . . . Lisa Chapman Clay sent a photo
from a minireunion of Kappa Delta sisters at the Naked Fish restaurant in Natick,
Mass., in February. Pictured are Erin O'Rourke Fuller, Lisa, Lisa
Lim Mui, and Nicole Schaeffer Orlov. . . . Theresa Guenther
and her husband, Michael Sullivan '94, send a picture of their son, Gideon
Sean Sullivan, born January 25. They note that Michael's roommate at Rochester,
Gideon Walter '91, inspired their son's name. Theresa is a law guardian
with the Legal Aid Bureau in Buffalo, and Michael is the director of technology
at the Gow School in South Wales, N.Y. . . . Anthony Vengrove was engaged
to marry Kate Besterman. He is group marketing director at Boehringer-Ingelheim
Pharmaceuticals of Ridgefield, Conn., and she is assistant development director
of the Zoellner Arts Center at Lehigh University.

Julie Barrie writes that she is working at the International Bureau
of the Federal Communications Commission in Washington, D.C., where she is specializing
in negotiating telecommunications standards for the telecom branch of the United
Nations. "The job is great, and I get to spend a lot of time in Geneva,"
she writes. She recently visited Lauren Green Krebs in Basel, Switzerland, and
is looking forward to a visit from Palema Delp Polashenski. "I'd love to

as a chiropractic doctor in Atlanta and plans to open a second practice this

Gary Karton, has written his first book, No Free Lunch: One Man's
Journey from Welfare to the American Dream, with Rodney Carroll. It includes
a forward by former President Clinton. . . . Amanda Smith Miller and
her husband, Travis Miller, write to note the birth of their daughter,
Avery Hartwell, on May 30. She weighed 10 lbs., 9 oz., and joins her big brother,
Evan. The family lives outside Boston, where Travis has started a management
consulting firm.

OCTOBER 11-13, 2002
Lawrence Loh writes that he is living in Dallas, where he is assistant
conductor of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. He married Jennifer Cole while living
in Denver, and the couple is expecting their first baby in October. He can be

Alster Persky writes that she and her husband, Seth, had their first child,
Morgan Haley, born August 19, 2001. The family lives in Setauket, N.Y., where
Seth is a gastroenterologist and Stacey is a marketing manager at Olympus. .
. . Jeffrey Reznick writes that he received his doctorate from Emory
University in 1999 and has worked for the past year as director and senior research
fellow of the Orthotic & Prosthetic Assistance Fund, a health-education
nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. . . . Renee Rosen premiered
the documentary Shouting Silent at the D.C. International Film Festival
in March. The film examines the AIDS pandemic through the eyes of South African
female AIDS orphans.

Louis Chaiten married Cynthia Testa in May 1999. In attendance
were Diana Shafter, Brett Wagner, and Cara Sucher '94.
Louis graduated with honors from Northwestern Law School, and the two have moved
to Cleveland, where he works with the law firm of Jones, Day, Reavis, and Pogue.
Cynthia has her master's degree in public policy from Georgetown and is a licensed
stockbroker with UBS PaineWebber. . . . Keith Hinrichs '94 (MS) writes
that he and his wife, Amy Shelton Hinrichs, had their second child, Samuel
Zain, on February 26. He joins his 2-year-old sister, Caroline. "Mother
and son are doing well," Keith writes. . . . Arturo Pagán
'94 (MS) and his wife, Katia Passerini, announce the birth of their first child,
Luis Daniel, born February 9. The family lives in Rome, Italy, where Arturo
works as an associate training officer for the International Fund for Agricultural
Development of the United Nations. . . . Nancy Lundy Silberstein writes
that her second son, Jacob Ethan, was born on March 4. She lives with her husband,
Eric, and sons, Zachary and Jacob, outside Philadelphia. . . . Brett Wagner
sends an update. He wrote and directed his first feature film, Five Years,
a drama about a young couple in rural Ohio faced with the return of the husband's
brother who had just finished a five-year term in juvenile prison for murder.
The film had its world premiere at the Victoria Independent Film & Video
Festival in Canada, where it won Best Feature Film. He writes that he lives
in New York City and would be glad to hear from classmates at brettwagnr@aol.com.

Suzanne Alley Franzino writes that she and her husband, Frank Franzino
'95, had a baby girl, named Alexandra Rose, in November 2001. She is working
in the development office at Princeton, and he works in market research. "We
are loving our roles as new parents," Suzanne writes. . . . Carrie Waldron
Mahon writes that she and her husband, Dan, had twin boys, Christopher and
Connor, on May 17. The family lives in Pomona, N.Y., where she works at IBM
in corporate market intelligence and her husband is a vice president at JP Morgan
Chase in New York City. . . . John Shea married Jennifer Kozloski on
November 3, 2001. He is employed by Stride & Associates, and she works for
Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.

Rita Gandhy received her doctor of medicine degree from Southern Illinois
University School of Medicine in May and will enter a physical medicine and
rehabilitation residency at Stanford University. . . . Lisa Hoffman sends
a photo of her first child, Tyler John, born on January 30. He weighed 7 lbs.,
10 oz., and was 20.75 inches long. She and her husband, Paul, are both in the
Air Force and were planning to relocate to Hampton, Va., in the spring. . .
. Heather Kenney has been added as an associate at Ward Norris Heller
& Reidy, L.L.P. She previously served as assistant district attorney in
the Bronx County District Attorney's office. . . . Christa Tarantino
married Santiago Korten on June 2, 2001. She is a global information technology
manager at Monitor Group in Cambridge, Mass., and he is a medical student at
Tufts University School of Medicine.

to develop programs in athletics for Palestinian youth, gave a talk at Rochester
about current events in Israel and his own efforts to divert youth from violence
to athletics.

Jack Tsai '99, and Phil Unwin. Also in attendance but not pictured
was Jason Wagner.. . . William Mills received his medical degree
from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine on May 19. He expects
to complete a residency in internal medicine at MetroHealth Medical Center in
Cleveland. . . . Juliane Thurlow writes that she graduated from medical
school in May and will enter family practice residency at the University of
Cincinnati.

John Hodges was one of 15 contestants on the Warner Bros. network reality
program No Boundaries, which began airing in March. The contestants made
their way from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, to the Arctic Circle on a
30-day expedition. The winner earned $100,000 and a Ford Explorer. . . . Navy Lt. Araceli Lopez returned to
the United States in April after a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean
Sea and Arabian Gulf on the guided missile cruiser U.S.S. Leyte Gulf.
. . . Jean Park writes to say "Hello to everyone! I am very excited
and relieved about completing my first year of graduate school, pursuing my
master's in city and regional planning at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. The last
nine months were the toughest I have ever gone through." She was planning
a summer internship at the Perimeter Community Improvement District in North
Atlanta. She continues, "Looking forward to experiencing the hot summer
weather everyone has been talking about down here but miss both New York City
and, most importantly, my classmates and friends. Everyone can keep in touch
