Boston, Lexington, and Concord: The Shots Heard 'Round the World. He describes
the book as a guided tour of the regions and anecdotes presented in a casual

Robert Sutherland (PhD) was appointed to the board of directors for
Xillix of Richmond, British Columbia. He is president of the biosynergy unit
of Varian Medical Systems and has more than 35 years of experience in cancer
research and biophysics.

Association of Alabama. He also received the Humanism in Medicine Award from

at the University's Commencement for M.D. graduates in May and received an honorary
doctor of science degree.

Martha Somerman (PhD) was named the dean of the University of Washington's
school of dentistry. Previously associate dean for research at the University
of Michigan School of Dentistry, she is an expert in cell behavior and in molecular
approaches to restoring tissue.

Associates in Buffalo, N.Y., formed a group of doctors and supporters called
Women and Children First to fight a proposed integration of Children's Hospital
