Alex Stoesen (MA) writes that he completed his 10th Habitat for Humanity mission in Yerevan, Armenia, last August. He is the author of an article, “Clyde and Ernestine’s College: Guilford, 1930–1964, Patterns of Power,” that appeared in The Southern Friend (fall 2001).

Joseph Antos (PhD) is the Wilson H. Taylor Scholar in Health Care and Retirement Policy at the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research. . . . Steven Lazarus S (PhD), president of the Boundary Information Group and chair of the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange, received the Extraordinary Achievement Award during the fifth national Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Summit. . . . Duncan Moore (PhD), the Rudolf and Hilda Kingslake Professor of Optical Engineering and professor of biomedical engineering, is the president and CEO of the Infotonics Technology Center in Canandaigua, N.Y., a consortium of industrial, federal and university partners, which has been designated a Center of Excellence Research Facility.

Leonard Jason (PhD), professor of psychology at DePaul University and director of the Center for Community Research, has published two new books, Innovative Strategies for Promoting Health and Mental Health Across the Life Span (with David Glenwick (PhD), professor of psychology at Fordham University), and Preventing Youth Access to Tobacco.

John Monaco has been named brand director for Dipentum, the first gastroenterology drug from Celltech Pharmaceuticals. John previously had been a senior global strategy manager at Bausch & Lomb. . . . David Skinner S (MBA) has been named CEO of New York Life International’s Asia region.

Gheysika Agambila S (MBA), the deputy minister of finance in Ghana, has published Solma: Tales from Northern Ghana, a collection of short stories for children. . . . Robert Maddamma S (MBA) has been appointed vice president of the Cal Lab operations of Transcat Inc.

Michael Ciaraldi (MS) is a professor in the department of computer science at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. . . . Jerry Krassner (PhD), a vice president of the defense contractor Dynamics Technology, e-mails that he was selected as a member of the U.S. Air Force Scientific Advisory Board, which provides technical advice to the senior leadership of the Air Force. . . . Ron Gerber ’92 (MS) (see ’90 undergraduate). . . . Charles (Chuck) Smith S (MBA) has been promoted to managing director of the MONY Group’s Arizona and New Mexico territory. Chuck, his wife, Angela, and their four children live in Gilbert, Ariz.

1994
Philip Bean (PhD), a former academic and residential dean at Harvard University, has been appointed the associate dean and director of academic resources at Haverford College. A historian, Philip also was appointed lecturer in history and literature at Harvard in 2001, and in 2002, he was awarded a fellowship by the Gilder Lehrman Institute for American History to support his research on the personal papers of James S. Sherman, vice president under Taft. He also has been a lecturer in history at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., and an adjunct instructor of history at Utica College of Syracuse University. . . . Jerry Concannon S (MBA) is a senior auditor for San Diego–based Service Strategies Corporation. . . . Stephen Klass W (MS) has been named vice president and dean of students at the University of Chicago.

1995
Angelo Barbetta S (MBA), the vice president of toner development and manufacturing in the supplies delivery unit at Xerox, was awarded a patent (with coworker Robert Bayley) for a new toner composition. The patent was Xerox’s 15,000th, a milestone marked by the company. . . . Kristen Kulinowski (PhD) was a congressional fellow for the Optical Society of America and the International Society for Optical Engineering during 2001–02. . . . Beckey Wennergren Parshall (MS) (see ’94 undergraduate). . . . Saima Rathor S (MBA) married Shan Mohomedally on October 13, 2002, in Rochester. Saima is a regional sales director for Institutional Investor; Shan is a vice president for Wachovia Securities in New York City.

Gretchen Guess (MS) is serving in the Alaska State House of Representatives, elected to a two-year term in 2000. . . . Laura Marks (PhD), an associate professor of film studies at Carleton College, was a 2002–03 visiting scholar at American University in Beirut. . . . Kristin Mitchell and Tane Robinson are planning a July 4 wedding. Kristin is a fifth-grade teacher in the Rochester City Schools District. Her fiance is a middle school counselor in the Palmyra-Macedon School District. . . . Wendy O’Brien W (MS) married Peter Clifford on July 13, 2002, in Pittsford, N.Y. She is a guidance counselor at Wilson Magnet High School in Rochester; he is a telecommunications specialist at Frontier Telephone of Rochester. . . . Amy is a fellow in health economics and outcomes research for the pharmaceutical company Novartis. Benjamin is an associate at the New York law firm of Gell & Gell.

Heather Frazer W (MS) married Eric Boyum on July 13, 2002, at Letchworth (N.Y.) State Park. Heather is a biology and chemistry teacher at Fairport (N.Y.) High School, and Eric is a project manager at Temco Service Industries in Rochester. . . . Lisa Osadciw (PhD), an assistant professor at Syracuse University, received the 2002 Professional Progress in Engineering Award from Iowa State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. . . .
