Philip Bean (PhD), a former academic and residential dean at Harvard University, has been appointed the associate dean and director of academic resources at Haverford College. A historian, Philip also was appointed lecturer in history and literature at Harvard in 2001, and in 2002, he was awarded a fellowship by the Gilder Lehrman Institute for American History to support his research on the personal papers of James S.
