Northeast Noyce Professional Learning Course Catalog
Overview:
Having a rich understanding of mathematics influences instructional decisions such as selecting tasks, posing purposeful questions, and devising ways to support and challenge students’ thinking. These institutes will engage participants in experiences designed to uncover the underlying mathematical ideas and algebraic reasoning associated with:
- number and operation
- geometric and measurement concepts
- rational numbers and proportional reasoning
as they develop across the elementary grades while being reflective about how people learn mathematics, what contributes to their mathematical identities, and creates optimal learning environments for learning and growing.
