Housed within the Warner School of Education, the Center for Professional Development and Education Reform is uniquely poised to bring cutting-edge resources and ideas to the field, with a strong commitment to equity and social justice. We do this through a variety of programs that include professional learning, coaching, consulting, and program evaluation.
The Center was established in 2001 with a generous gift from the late William F. Scandling. Since that time, we have grown from a staff of three to now more than a dozen faculty and staff working across three areas of expertise – K-12 Professional Learning, Research and Program Evaluation, and Broader Impacts.
The value offered by the team of clinical faculty and professional staff serving in the Center has been widely recognized locally. Hundreds of K-12 school districts, higher education institutions, and community organizations have partnered with us, and several of these collaborations have lasted over a dozen years. National recognition is also demonstrated by more than $17 million in grant funding by federal and state agencies to support Center collaborations over time, most of which have been redirected into area organizations and schools to foster and support research-based innovative professional practice and systemic change.
I am proud to lead the Center team. I am equally proud of the impact that we have made in our local community and beyond. I look forward to building new partnerships and continuing to learn and grow from those we serve.
