Two thousand nine marks the bicentennial of the birth of Abraham Lincoln. Join Grant Holcomb, the Mary W. and Donald R. Clark Director of the University of Rochester’s Memorial Art Gallery, for an illustrated lecture highlighting images and interpretations of Abraham Lincoln from mid-19^th century photographs to late 19^th and 20^th century painting, sculpture, prints and drawings.  Following the presentation, enjoy a served lunch in the Memorial Art Gallery's magnificent M&T Bank Ballroom.

After lunch, participants are welcome to take part in a self-guided tour of the Memorial Art Gallery’s collections.  Roundtrip shuttle service will be provided from the River Campus.

President Joel Seligman honors the Class of 1959. Class photos will be taken at this time. Please arrive by 2:30 p.m.

Zaid ’89, owner of EsquireComics.com, a co-founder of the Network of Disclosure, and an advisor to the Overstreet Comic Book Price and Grading Guides, for an educational and humorous interactive presentation tracing the historical creation and development of comic books and their characters, and particularly how comics addressed social issues of the day (including war, sex, civil rights, women’s liberation, politics, censorship, violence, and terrorism).

Judy Swoyer Johnstone ’64 and Peter Standish ’64 lead an open forum discussing what’s next in classmates’ journeys from the University of Rochester to present day. This casual exchange will reveal how Rochester opened opportunities to the next chapters in their lives. Audience participation encouraged. Continental breakfast provided. 

Moderated by Risë Zywotow Birnbaum ’74, this open forum provides classmates with an opportunity to network with each other. Come prepared to share your stories about how you connect with others. Demonstrations will be given on the popular networking sites like LinkedIn and Facebook. Classmate panelists will share their stories on how they use these and other networking tools. Our weekend highlight--55th, 60th, and 65th Reunion dinner at the Chatterbox Club! Enjoy catching up with friends over cocktails and dinner in one of Rochester’s most charming private clubs. The University will honor our reunion milestones by awarding us a special keepsake reunion medallion. The gathering will conclude with spirited singing of our favorite College songs and taking of our class photos. Don’t miss this delightful evening of reminiscing and celebrating of our special College days.

This dinner offers activities and fun for kids, including a magic show and special dinner buffet with chicken fingers, macaroni and cheese, and juice boxes. Kids ages 8 and under eat free.
