What is Meliora Weekend?
Meliora Weekend was founded in 2001 following the successful Sesquicentennial celebration of 2000. Designed for University of Rochester alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends, the weekend encompasses reunions, family weekend, and alumni and community activities, as well as showcases the exceptional talents within the University of Rochester community.

What kinds of events happen during Meliora Weekend?
Meliora Weekend truly has something for everyone! The schedule includes speakers, entertainment, symposia and panel discussions, reunion events, sporting events, seminars, open houses, and much, much more.

Did you request for Eastman Presents: Alarm Will Sound | Homecoming
Adding Alarm Will Sound to your Meliora Weekend itinerary simply adds the performance to your personal schedule and serves as a reminder. It does not reserve your seat or purchase a ticket.
Tickets must be purchased separately through the Eastman School of Music Box Office. To purchase tickets, please visit: Eastman School of Music Box Office – Alarm Will Sound.
Once you’ve purchased your ticket through the Eastman Box Office, you’ll be all set to attend the performance. Please review event description for more details.
How do I register for Meliora Weekend?
Registration will open this summer! Be sure to follow the University social accounts and check your email for information.
Once registration is live, register online as soon as possible to avoid being placed on a waiting list, as many events reach capacity quickly.
What is the cancellation policy?
If you must cancel all or part of your Meliora Weekend reservation, please do so by sending an email to alumni@rochester.edu or call 877.MELIORA (877.635.4672). The deadline to request a registration refund is September 24.
Are children and families welcome?
Yes, children and families are welcome to attend. Please plan to register online together.
Why do I have to register to come back?
It is important for everyone to register to indicate which events they plan to attend because each venue has limited capacity, and proper food counts will be needed for several events.
Do I have to register everyone that is coming with me?
Yes, in order to appropriately plan for our events and space limitations, it is important that all members of your party register for events.
Can I make changes online?
Yes. All changes to registrations can be made online by logging into your account and making modifications (deleting or adding events).
Reviewing or modifying Your Registration
You may review or update your event selections at any time by accessing your registration through the “Review Your Registration” link at the bottom of this email. If you also registered a guest, they will receive their own confirmation email with a personalized link to review or update their registration. Please note that any updates you make going forward will not apply to your guest’s registration, ensuring each attendee can customize their own Meliora Weekend experience.
Registering your Guest
When online registration for Meliora Weekend opens, be sure to register yourself and your guest early—some events may sell out. We also recommend keeping a written list of all the events you sign up for, which will make registering your guest much easier. Follow these steps:
Check-In
When you arrive, please check-in to pick up your lanyard, name badge, and swag. You’ll use your badge for entry to all sessions and events throughout the conference.

Eastman, Lowry Hall
School of Medicine & Dentistry, Flaum Atrium
School of Nursing, Helen Wood Hall Atrium
Do I need a ticket for my events?
No. When you check in, you will receive a name badge with a unique QR code. Please keep your name badge with you during the weekend, as it serves as your event credential and provides quick access to your schedule.
How do I download the Meliora Weekend app?
Visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and search “Meliora Weekend.” Download the app to your mobile device, then open it to access the event schedule, maps, announcements, and other helpful information throughout the weekend.
For the best experience, we recommend downloading the app before you arrive on campus.
Is accessible parking available?
Yes. Once you arrive on campus, parking staff can direct you to the closest available handicap parking space. You must have a government-issued handicap parking sticker to utilize these spaces. If you request handicap parking when you register, we’ll provide you with more information closer to the weekend.
I have some particular needs related to accessibility – what should I do?
The University of Rochester is committed to making its campuses accessible to persons with disabilities. Please contact us via email at alumni@rochester.edu if you have specific needs and we will assist you. You will have an opportunity as well to provide more information during registration. We will have maps of ADA accessibility available on the app and at on-site registration during the weekend.
How do I check in and pick up my badge?
Once you arrive on campus, stop by one of the many registration tables to check in and pick up your badge, bag, and other goodies for your time on campus. We recommend arriving early to allow enough time for check-in before your first scheduled event.

Is parking available?
River Campus parking is limited, especially when classes are in session on Friday, so we encourage you to take advantage of our intercampus shuttle service to and from campus lots. If you plan to come to campus Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday evening, parking is open where legal spaces are available. Parking for Eastman Theatre will be available at public garages. The closest is the East End Garage located at 475 E Main Street. There are additional public surface lots and street parking in the area.
Is transportation available during the Weekend?
Intercampus shuttles provide transportation within the River Campus, School of Nursing, School of Medicine and Dentistry and to and from Eastman School of Music. Transportation is not available from the airport to River Campus or other destinations. On the River Campus, staffed golf carts will be available for guests who need assistance. More detailed information on transportation will be available closer to the event.

What is the standard dress during Meliora Weekend?
Unless noted, the general dress code for the weekend is casual attire. Show your Rochester pride by wearing blue and yellow, and your best University of Rochester gear. Check the weather before you pack!
Memorial Art Gallery Free Admission?
Did you know that all Meliora Weekend guests get free admission to the Memorial Art Gallery (MAG)? Make your way over to MAG and take in the permanent collection of more than 12, 000 objects on our 14-acre campus!

Lost and Found
If you lose something during the weekend on the River Campus, please visit the Campus Information Center in Wilson Commons.

The Campus Information Center in Wilson Commons will be providing bag check to those who are interested. Please bring your bag(s) to the Campus Information Center and we’ll hold your bag(s) for you.
