Quality Improvement
"To assess and assist the Investigator (PI) in assuring the rights and wellbeing of human subjects are protected and that the study is being conducted in accordance with IRB requirements, the approved protocol, applicable Federal regulations, U of R policies and best practice (GCP) standards."Clinical Research Coordinators(CRC) Certification
The Association of Clinical Research Professionals(ACRP) has developed a certification examination for CRCs. Certification is increasingly recognized by the pharmaceutical industry as an indication of professionalism. The examination is offered twice a year, in the spring and fall at select locations around the country.
The Office for Human Subject Protection (OHSP) promotes the benefits of certification. To date, over 150 University of Rochester CRCs have received certification. The OHSP reimburses the examination fee for all employees that receive a passing grade on the examination. In addition, the office reimburses the employees re-certification fee every two years upon completion of continuing education time requirements.
The Application and the CRC Certification Guide can be found on the ACRP web site (http://www.acrpnet.org). OHSP extends the same offer to those who successfully complete the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) Certification Program for Clinical Research Professionals (CCRPs). The application and information can be found on the SoCRA web site http://www.socra.org/html/certific.htm
